written in standard fairy tale format, the neko is me, the rest

history

(ok gomen that was bad)

there was once a pure maidenly neko that lived in a town full of good people

however there was an evil wizard that despised everyone around him and would descend his mountain of burning embers, disguised as a giant stag with antlers of bronze, to steal the hearts of young girls for they made him feel young again

now he happened to wonder to the town the neko lived in and was taken aback by her heart, which was far larger than any other he had ever come across

quickly he snatched it from her ribcage and bounded away, leaving the small creature to cry out

however she was determined and asked around her town if anyone knew anything of a large deer with bronze antlers

when no one she lived near could answer she took a bundle of provisions and left to other towns, asking if they had seen the beast

she walked for years and became unrecognizable from the dirt and toil of travel

finally she wondered upon a small town near the ocean, where she stopped next to a basket of fish. Wearily she asked if they had seen the great deer and to her surprise a fish raised its head and replied that yes indeed, it had. While being carried by an eagle made from gold he had seen a small neko having her heart stolen by a stag with bronze antlers

the neko wailed with despair and told the fish he had in fact seen her, and that was the reason she had been searching all this time. the fish told her if she put him back in the water he would take her to the Sun, who saw all and owned the eagle which had captured him.

Quickly the neko stole up the fish, for she had no money nor worldly possesions left save the clothes on her back, and hid away to a part of the water no one would see them

with all her might she heaved the fish into the water and watched amazed as he grow to the size of a small boat. She climbed on top his back and they took sail, the water clearing her face of grime and dirt

lulled to sleep by the waves, the small neko soon fell asleep.
